Gossip Bistro, ECR, Chennai

13:46:00

I have heard a lot about Gossip Bistro. So on our way over to Sheraton Grand we stopped over at Gossip Bistro for Lunch. The Bistro is located in Kanathur on ECR with good amount of Car Parking. People traveling on weekends are not gonna have difficulty finding the place or the need to worry about the parking their vehicle.

Food:
We started with Potato Wedges and BBQ Chicken Boneless as my one year old like both of them. The wedges were deep fried with skin and had a dash of cream and spices on it. This made the dish mildly spicy but with a really good zing to it. While the other dish had small morsels of chicken marinated in a typical smokey bbq sauce and shallow fried served along with mayo and blue cheese dip.

While we were munching on this we were served complimentary breads with herbed butter and Ice Lemon Tea.

For our mains we had Penne Cajun Chicken Pasta and Chicken Pot Pie. The Pasta was creamy with a hint of cajun spice which made it delicate. While the latter had a short crust pastry with a serving of chicken, bell peppers and cheese. I found the pastry slightly on the sweeter side, but definitely a tasty dish over all.

The menu does feature Indian dishes as well for the people who want Indian dishes.

Ambiance:
The restaurant design is contemporary with large glass areas to lend adequate light which enhances the appearance.

Service:
Service was good overall even though they were swapped with customers. One minor grouse is the restaurant had only one high chair for kids which was already taken by a group of customers. We had to wait until they were done to get the chair. I really do wish they invest in more high chairs which will drive in more young families.

Price:
This meal cost us 1428/- which we felt was worth the feast we were served.

Price - 8.5 / 10
Ambiance - 9 / 10
Service - 8 / 10
Price - 8 / 10.

Fuddruckers, Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi

15:46:00

My food stops at Abu Dhabi have been all about having the best burger and this stop at Fuddruckers was no different.

Food:
Our order was an Appetiser Platter, half a pound Swiss Melt Burger and a Cajun Chicken Platter with a couple of bottomless cokes. The best part about Fuddruckers was the salads counter which is free. My mom just loved the salads while I binged on my half pound swiss melt beef burger. I was a little cocky when I ordered it. But I did have a tough time finishing it.

The Appetizer Platter comprised of Chili French Fries topped of with Chicken curry, Crispy Cheesy Mozzarella Breaded Sticks, Onion Rings, Buffalo Chicken Wings and finally a Quesadilla. Apart from the Quesadilla every other element was fantastic. My top favourites were the Chicken Wings and the Chili Fries Wow!!!

Moving on to my half a pound Swiss Melt which was cooked to medium was simply amazing. It was one juicy cheesy greasy messy burger. I finished of by sampling a little bit of the Cajun Chicken Platter which had cajun spiced chicken pieces charboiled to perfection.

Ambiance:
Reminded me of Sparky's back home. So did the food.

Service:
No Complaints here

Price:
This meal cost us about 190 AED, which was well worth the money.

Food - 8.5/10

Hard Rock Cafe, Phoenix Market City, Velachery

21:48:00

Food scene in Chennai just got a big boost. Enter Hard Rock Cafe. A place where music and food mix together to bring about a fun filled, memorable dine. Hard Rock Cafe at Chennai is yet to get its liqiour license,  all the more reasons to visit it sooner than later, by non alcoholics such as me. I made a quick dash there when I was at Phoneix for another event.

Food:
Since we were not planning to have a full fledged dine, we ordered a Tupelo Chicken Tenders, Wildberry Smoothie for my friend and a Berrilious for myself. Tupelo Chicken Tenders was Boneless chicken which was seasoned and breaded served with Honey Mustard and BBQ sauce. Both the sauces were just blissful. One could not decide with which sauce the chicken tasted best. Both brought about a totally different taste which was just divine.

While my Berrilicious was nice, (more like a tonic) I just loved the Wildbery Smoothie which was rich mix of banana and pina coloda. This was all we had, but it gave me a picture of the great food here.

Ambiance:
The pub / restaurant / music theater is really great and they have different events organized on different days which should be interesting.

Service:
The service here is top notch. They really do take care of you and pamper you !

Price:
The pricing is on the higher side just two drinks and a 3 piece starter cost us Rs 890/- so a proper meal for two would cost Rs 2500 and upwards depending on what has been ordered.

Food - 8/10
Ambiance - 8/10
Service - 8/10
Price - 7/10

Hard Rock Cafe is located inside Phoenix Market City in Velachery

QT Grills, Gandhinagar, Adyar

19:15:00

I have always been taught and learnt to have desserts after food. But this time a group of foodies stepped out to have an eclair platter and coffee at Marriott.  Some of us were still hungry after this. A small picture of a burger on Facebook sealed the deal and we were lured to dine at QT Grills.

Food:
Since we all decided to have a small bite instead of going for full portions we picked up a Cheese Burger and BBQ Beef Burger and finally a Garden Medallion. Cheese Burger was beef burger with a layer of Cheese served with French Fries, a bit a coleslaw and fresh veggies. While the BBQ Beef Burger had the same beef patty with a dash of BBQ sauce. Finally the Garden Medallion for the only veggie among the group, was a veggie in a carbs loaded potato served with mashed potato and a piece of bread.

The highlight of the dish was the sauce in which it was served in. Of the two beef burgers I would definitely pick the BBQ Beef burger because of the added juiciness.

Ambiance:
Looked like a decent copy of Sparkys. I must say I loved the retro tracks played here.

Service:
Service was a little slow, but I definitely would not mind as the round of desserts was already in my belly.

Price:
This is finally the shocker. 2burgers and a Veg steak cost us Rs 570/- after taxes. I definitely would not mind driving all the way to have these delicious burgers.

Food - 7.5/10
Ambiance - 7/10
Service - 6/10
Price - 8/10

QT Grills is in the Gandhinagar service lane right next to Naidu Hall.
